Brittany Tayler, MD - MIAAP Board Member-at-Large | E-Cigarette Champion | Advocacy Day Chair
Dr. Brittany Tayler is an internist and pediatrician at the Michigan State University Pediatric Public Health Initiative and works clinically at Hurley Medical Center. She completed her medical training at Albany Medical College and her residency in Med/Peds at Albany Medical Center. She completed post-residency training in public health as the Alice Hamilton Scholar at MSU and is currently completing her Masters in Public Health. She currently is very active in research and advocacy, particularly regards to tobacco and cannabis in youth and serves as the Michigan chapter of the AAP's E-Cigarette Champion and Advocacy Day chair.
Additionally, she co-chairs the statewide Keep MI Kids Tobacco Free Alliance, the Nicotine and Cannabis Work Group of the Genesee County Prevention Coalition, and leads the Michigan Chapter of the American College of Physicians Health and Public Policy Committee. She has testified in at the state level supporting various legislative efforts including firearm safety, car seat safety, and childhood vaccinations as well as penned several Op-Eds to educate Michiganders on important public health topics. She has presented at internationally around her tobacco prevention and advocacy work and hopes to continue her work her in state, educating fellow pediatricians on the dangers of e-cigarettes and novel nicotine delivery systems as well as the importance of advocacy for pediatricians and their patients. She currently lives in Flint with her fiancée Justin and adorable cat Nugget.
