Upon completion of medical school at Wayne State, Dr. Weinberg did a pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He opened a private practice in Ann Arbor in 1979 and added a satellite office in Canton. In 1993, his practice was one of the first to join Integrated Health Associates in Ann Arbor (IHA). Dr. Weinberg was a board member of IHA for the first 15 years and then became a board member of their real estate holdings company. He was the Medical Director of Informatics and ushered in the first EMR in IHA in 2005. Dr. Weinberg held that position for 12 years. Since its inception, IHA has grown to 150 sites with over 700 physicians serving over 500,000 patients.

Dr. Weinberg worked full-time in his primary care office for 43 years. His group of pediatricians and PNP’s served a large diverse population. He was the first pediatrician to attend deliveries at our local hospital and served on the neonatal team for many years. Dr. Weinberg thoroughly enjoyed his practice. He retired in January, 2022, in order to be able to visit his young grandchildren who live out of state. He helps in the office a few times per month.

Dr. Weinberg’s involvement with the MIAAP started as a board member in 2007. He served as Treasurer and managed the transition of our financial systems. Subsequently, he was the Vice President and President of the Chapter. His term of service was 11 years.
